Hello, I am Lenin Patino you may or may not know me, regardless let me tell you a little about myself. First of all I'm a United States Veteran, A who was severely wounded in 1993 while serving in the United States Army.

     My recently published book tells the true story about the unforgettable experience I had while serving in the United States military, and the time since my injury, it takes you through years of hospitalization and rehabilitation at military and Veteran Medical centers, where I met many wonderful people. After many struggles I now live a normal life, carry out normal everyday activities, and enjoy generally good health. This site contains additional information about my story, it is basically a supplement to my book.

     Many people have asked why I waited so long to make my story known. Well let me answer that you see as you will find out in my book the first few years after my injury I was in no condition to do anything let alone write my story.  When my condition improved I did not want to even think about what had happened to me. When I finally decided to write it I had  to stop about halfway due to personal matters.
     

     A couple of years later I decided to finish writing it only to find that the disk I had saved it on had somehow become corrupt causing most of what I had written to be lost, then in 2002 I decided to start again when I was almost finished I found that our country was in the middle of a war and with so many soldiers coming home injured and in body bags or coffins I decided against publishing it since I did  not want to take any publicity away from their stories and the issues that were  really important at the time.

     Then as the senseless war went on and more and more soldiers came home wounded I felt that my story might inspire someone faced with a similar condition to continue fighting despite their struggles. I have also put together a separate page with helpful information for injured Veterans and all other military personnel.
